Some Thoughts on Getting Reviewed

The other day, a friend whose first book is going to drop in some months talked about the deep anxiety that the idea of Being Reviewed provoked in them. Since I am a highly anxious and somewhat pessimistic person who has now published two books, and expects to publish at least one and maybe two more in the next few years, and hopes to keep publishing at irregular intervals after that, it turns out I have some thoughts on managing this. Those thoughts may be of practical interest to other writers, and of human, or perhaps diagnostic, interest to anyone else.
