Reread Housekeeping for the Robinson-Dillard project and put it down with a renewed sense of awe. Since I like to arrange the shelves in my mind (it compensates for the derangement of my actual affairs), I more or less immediately jotted down this list. I offer it with a shrug. The true canon is like the tao, always somewhat more than can be named. Two minutes after posting, I will remember some work so important to me that my forgetting it from this list will strike me as not an error in execution but as a fatal heedlessness in my very soul.
